ह्युस्टनका सम्पूर्ण नेपाली संस्थाहरूको तर्फबाट नेपाली एशोसिएसन अफ ह्युस्टन (NAH) को सार्वजनिक अपील II
नेपाली एशोसिएसन अफ ह्युस्टन (NAH) टेक्ससको ह्युस्टनमा रहेका नेपालीहरूको गैर नफामुलक ५०१ सी ३ सामाजिक संस्था हो। विगत २५ वर्षदेखि NAH ले नेपाली समुदायको हित, नेपाली भाषा, संस्कृति र पहिचानको संरक्षण तथा प्रवर्द्धनका लागि निरन्तर काम गर्दै आएको छ। ह्युस्टनमा नेपाली समुदायका सदस्यहरूलाई आइपर्ने समस्या होस् वा नेपालमा आइपर्ने प्राकृतिक विपद् र आपतकाल—हरेक अवस्थामा NAH सहयोगका लागि अघि सर्दै आएको छ।
NAH ले गर्दै आएका सामाजिक तथा आर्थिक गतिविधिहरूलाई पारदर्शी र जवाफदेही बनाउने विषयमा समुदायका सदस्यहरूले व्यक्त गर्नुभएको चासोलाई हामी उच्च सम्मान गर्दछौं। हाम्रा सबै गतिविधि समुदायका सदस्यहरूको पहुँचमा पुगून् र आवश्यक जानकारी सहज रूपमा उपलब्ध होस् भन्ने विषयमा हामी अझ सचेत र प्रतिबद्ध छौं। यसप्रति समुदायले देखाउनुभएको चासो र सुझावका लागि हार्दिक धन्यवाद व्यक्त गर्दछौं।
हालको महाविपद्का सम्बन्धमा
हालै नेपालमा आएको विनाशकारी बाढीका कारण नेपाली जनताले भोगिरहेको अकल्पनीय मानवीय संकटप्रति ह्युस्टनको नेपाली समुदाय गहिरो दुःखी र चिन्तित छ। यस विपद्को समयमा सहयोग गर्न चाहने सयौं नेपाली तथा नेपाललाई माया गर्ने अन्य समुदायका सदस्यहरू समेत विश्वसनीय र सहज माध्यम खोजिरहनुभएको अवस्थामा NAH ले GoFundMe मार्फत सहयोग संकलन अभियान सञ्चालन गरेको हो।
GoFundMe मार्फत सहयोग संकलन गर्नु भनेको प्रधानमन्त्री राहत कोषमा सिधै सहयोग गर्न चाहने दाताहरूको भावनामा कुनै किसिमको ठेस पुर्याउनु होइन। हाम्रो साझा उद्देश्य भनेको धेरैभन्दा धेरै सहयोग संकलन गर्नु र त्यो सहयोग प्रभावित नेपालीहरूसम्म छिटो, व्यवस्थित र प्रभावकारी रूपमा पुर्याउनु हो। व्यक्तिगत रूपमा सहयोग पठाउन चाहनुहुने सबैको भावनाप्रति हामी पूर्ण सम्मान गर्दछौं। साथै, “व्यक्तिगत रूपमा सहयोग पठाउने विकल्प हुँदाहुँदै संस्थागत रूपमा सहयोग संकलन गर्न किन आवश्यक भयो?” भन्ने समुदायको सार्वजनिक चासोलाई ध्यानमा राख्दै GoFundMe सञ्चालन गर्नुका प्रमुख कारणहरू स्पष्ट गर्न चाहन्छौं:
सहज र परिचित माध्यम: अनलाइन पोर्टलमार्फत सहयोग गर्न चाहने तथा अमेरिकामा प्रचलित र स्थापित payment gateway प्रयोग गर्न रुचाउने दाताहरूलाई सहज विकल्प प्रदान गर्न।
सबै समुदायलाई समेट्न: नेपाली मात्र नभई नेपालमा आएको विपद्मा सहयोग गर्न चाहने अन्य समुदाय तथा अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय दाताहरूलाई समेत विश्वसनीय माध्यम उपलब्ध गराउन।
सुरक्षित भुक्तानी प्रक्रिया: सहयोग पठाउने क्रममा कुनै प्राविधिक वा सुरक्षा सम्बन्धी समस्या आएमा सहज रूपमा समाधान गर्न सकिने स्थापित प्लेटफर्म उपलब्ध गराउन।
करसम्बन्धी सुविधा: अमेरिकामा रहनुभएका नेपाली दाताहरूलाई कर छुटका लागि योग्य संस्थाको विवरणसहितको सहयोग रसिद प्राप्त गर्न सहज बनाउन।
संस्थागत माध्यममा पहुँच: संस्थागत वा विश्वसनीय स्थानीय संस्थामार्फत सहयोग गर्न चाहनुहुने तर त्यस्तो प्रक्रियामा सहज पहुँच नभएका दाताहरूलाई पनि अभियानमा सहभागी हुने अवसर प्रदान गर्न।
प्रधानमन्त्री राहत कोषमा रकम हस्तान्तरण: GoFundMe मार्फत संकलित सहयोग रकम एकमुष्ट रूपमा प्रधानमन्त्री राहत कोषमा पठाइनेछ।
अतिरिक्त शुल्क : GoFundMe को Tips आफ्नो इच्छाअनुसार बार (slider) मा स्लाइड गरेर घटाउन, बढाउन वा नदिन पनि मिल्छ।
पूर्ण पारदर्शिता: GoFundMe मार्फत संकलित रकम तथा सहयोगीहरूको विवरण NAH ले व्यवस्थित र पारदर्शी ढङ्गले सार्वजनिक गर्नेछ।
विपद् व्यवस्थापनमा राज्य संयन्त्रलाई सहयोग: हाम्रो मुख्य उद्देश्य नेपालको महाविपद्मा सहयोग गर्नु हो। हामीमध्ये धेरैले आफ्ना आफन्त, साथीभाइ तथा चिनजानका प्रभावित परिवारलाई व्यक्तिगत रूपमा सहयोग गरिरहेका छौं र गरिरहनेछौं। तर हजारौं–लाखौं प्रभावित नेपालीलाई राहत तथा उद्धार आवश्यक परेको अवस्थामा त्यसको व्यापक व्यवस्थापन राज्य संयन्त्रमार्फत मात्र सम्भव हुन्छ। त्यसैले अहिलेको आवश्यकता सरकार तथा सम्बन्धित निकायलाई आवश्यक स्रोत जुटाउन सहयोग गर्दै सामाजिक सद्भाव, एकता र मानवीय सहयोगको ऐक्यबद्धता प्रदर्शन गर्नु हो।
आउनुहोस्, विपद्मा एकजुट बनौं
हामी सबैका आफ्ना व्यक्तिगत धारणा, असहमति वा फरक विचार हुन सक्छन्। ती सबैलाई आफ्नो ठाउँमा सम्मान गर्दै नेपालको यो महाविपद्को समयमा भने हामी एकजुट भएर मानवीय सहयोगको हात बढाऔं।
ह्युस्टनको नेपाली समुदायले सुरु गरेको यस सहयोग अभियानमा सबैको साथ र सहभागिताको अपेक्षा गर्दछौं।
आफू पनि सहयोग गरौं। सहयोग गर्न चाहने अरूलाई पनि प्रोत्साहित गरौं। सक्दो सहयोग गरौं र यो अभियानको लिंक शेयर गरौं। मानवीयताको यो अभियानमा हातेमालो गरौं।

The Nepalese Association of Houston (NAH) is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) social organization serving the Nepali community in Houston, Texas. For the past 25 years, NAH has continuously worked for the welfare of the Nepali community and for the preservation and promotion of the Nepali language, culture, and identity. Whether addressing challenges faced by members of the Nepali community in Houston or responding to natural disasters and emergencies in Nepal, NAH has consistently stepped forward to provide support.
We highly respect the concerns raised by community members regarding transparency and accountability in NAH’s social and financial activities. We are committed to ensuring that our activities remain accessible to the community and that relevant information is made available clearly and conveniently. We sincerely thank the community for its interest, feedback, and constructive suggestions.
Regarding the Current National Disaster
The Houston Nepali community is deeply saddened and concerned by the unimaginable humanitarian crisis caused by the recent devastating floods in Nepal. At a time when hundreds of Nepalis and friends of Nepal are looking for a reliable and convenient way to contribute to relief efforts, NAH has launched a fundraising campaign through GoFundMe.
Launching this GoFundMe campaign is not intended in any way to undermine or discourage those who wish to donate directly to the Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund. Our common objective is to raise as much support as possible and ensure that assistance reaches those affected as quickly, systematically, and effectively as possible.
We fully respect the choice of individuals who prefer to send their contributions directly. At the same time, in response to the community’s legitimate question—“Why was an institutional fundraising campaign necessary when individuals can donate directly?”—we would like to clarify the primary reasons for using GoFundMe:
• Convenient and Familiar Platform: To provide donors with an easy and familiar online option using established payment systems commonly used in the United States.
• Inclusive and Accessible to All Communities: To provide a reliable way for not only Nepalese but also members of other communities and international donors who wish to support those affected by the disaster in Nepal to contribute.
• Secure Payment Process: To provide donors with an established platform where technical or payment-related issues can be addressed through a structured and secure process.
• Tax-Related Convenience: To make it easier for donors in the United States to receive donation receipts and supporting information from an eligible nonprofit organization for potential tax-deductibility purposes, as applicable.
• Institutional Access: To provide an opportunity for donors who prefer to contribute through a local, institutional, or trusted community organization but may not have convenient access to such channels.
• Transfer of Funds to the Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund: All funds raised through the GoFundMe campaign will be transferred collectively to the Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund.
• Optional GoFundMe Tips: GoFundMe’s optional tip can be adjusted by the donor using the slider. Donors may increase, reduce, or choose not to provide a tip.
• Full Transparency: NAH will maintain and publicly share information regarding the funds raised through GoFundMe and the contributions received in an organized and transparent manner.
• Supporting Government-Led Disaster Response: Our primary objective is to support Nepal during this national disaster. Many of us are already providing—and will continue to provide—personal assistance to our relatives, friends, and families affected by the disaster.
However, when thousands or even hundreds of thousands of people require rescue and relief, large-scale coordination and distribution can only be effectively managed through the government and relevant state mechanisms. Therefore, the need of the hour is to help the government and concerned agencies mobilize the resources necessary to respond to this disaster while demonstrating social solidarity, unity, and collective humanitarian support.
Let Us Stand Together in This Time of Crisis
We may all have our own personal opinions, disagreements, and differences of perspective. We respect those differences. However, during this national disaster in Nepal, let us come together and extend a helping hand to those in need.
We sincerely request the support and participation of everyone in the relief campaign initiated by the Nepali community in Houston.
Let us contribute ourselves. Encourage others to contribute. Give whatever we can, and share the campaign link with others. Let us join hands in this humanitarian effort.
