I am pleased to announce my candidacy for the MD-2 Lions Texas State Office of Council Chair.
Lion Mitch Thames is a member of the Bay City Lions Club, his club has unanimously voted and is supporting his efforts to become the 2029-2030 Multiple District 2, Council Chair.
Lion Mitch and his wife Lion Carolyn Thames have chosen this path to continue to serve others and work hard to exceed the goals set forth by The State of Texas and Lions International.
Our District (2S4) has the responsibility to elect the MD2 Council Chair every 16 years.
The election for the 2029-2030 Council Chair position will be held at the District Convention in April or May of 2026.
We are asking for your club to endorse PDG Mitch Thames for MD2 Council Chair.
In addition to the 16 District Governors, one Past District Governor serves as the Council Chairperson.
Please let me know if you would like to schedule an opportunity to meet Lion Mitch, he looks forward to attending your club meeting and upcoming events. If you invite him to a Lions club event, make sure and put him to work, he is a working Lion.
Lion Mitch Thames served as District Governor in 2014/2015 and served as the State Treasurer for MD2. He has a knowledge of the rules and obligations of our association.
During the International Convention in 2015, he served as Caucus Chair for MD2, hosting all the Lions International candidates running for office that year.
