LTC Brandon A. Shah was killed by a convicted terrorist on American soil at an institution of higher learning. He should be retroactively placed on Active Duty status by the Secretary of the Army and granted the full benefits afforded to a U.S. service member killed while serving on Active Duty.

Any cadet who helped stop the terrorist should receive appropriate military honors and support, including mental health services and consideration for awards and decorations to be entered into their permanent service records, along with any applicable promotion points.
