A huge thank you to our Dean of Instruction, Mrs. Holt; our 8th grade Assistant Principal, Mrs. Mercer; our 7th grade Assistant Principal, Mrs. Ferro, and our 6th grade Assistant Principal, Mrs. Millner! These ladies have such a huge heart and are the backbone of FJH. They are the ultimate problem-solvers and the steady hands behind the scenes, ensuring our school runs smoothly every single day.

From supporting our students to empowering our staff, they handle every challenge with grace, grit, and a smile. We are so lucky to have this incredible leadership team guiding our school!

We are thrilled to announce that Mrs. Lynn Landry has been named Paraprofessional of the Year!

Mrs. Lynn Landry truly embodies the heart of our campus. In her role in ISS, she ensures that students “always finish their work and reflect on their actions” while creating a safe, structured, and welcoming environment. She goes above and beyond to support both students and staff, stepping in wherever needed—covering duties, classes, or helping at events—“always helping out anytime, anywhere.” Her kindness, patience, and dedication make students feel confident and valued, and she brings joy and connection to our entire school community. One nominator summed it up best: Lynn is “the happy glue that holds our Sunshine Committee together” and “truly the heart of our campus.”

Congratulations to Mrs. Landry on this well-deserved recognition!

Our Friendswood Junior High Cadets Color Guard just wrapped up an incredible season, and we couldn’t be more proud! 💙

This talented group of 7th and 8th graders went undefeated across all four Texas Color Guard Circuit competitions—an amazing accomplishment on its own! They then closed out their season on March 14 by earning the title of TCGC Area East State Champions in the Cadet Novice Class. 🏆

Their hard work, dedication, and growth throughout the season truly showed, and they represented Friendswood with excellence every step of the way.

Help us celebrate these outstanding students and their big win! 🎉

Our Principal’s Student Advisory Committee met this week to talk about what makes the culture at FJH special. Students shared their thoughts on belonging, building connections with teachers and classmates, and what helps them feel supported at school.

Through interactive activities and group discussions, students talked about the importance of trusted adults, respectful friendships, and having a voice in their school community. Our student responses reflected a campus culture built on kindness, connection, and pride in being a Mustang!
