And with that, we have the 5th named storm of the Atlantic Hurricane Season. NHC has upgraded TD 5 to Tropical Storm . Max sustained winds are 40 mph. The primary threat is heavy rainfall leading to flash flooding along and east of I-45 throughout Tuesday.

As of right now, this Gulf system brings more of a rain threat than anything else. Portions of SE TX are in a slight risk (level 2 of 4) of Excessive Rainfall for Tuesday and Wednesday. Rainfall totals of 3-5" are expected, with locally higher amounts of 6-9" possible.
