The Texas legislature created the North Fort Bend Water Authority (“NFBWA”) in 2005 to help prevent the sinking of the land, also known as subsidence. The NFBWA serves its Groundwater Reduction Plan (“GRP”) Participants by providing water, by implementing conservation to protect our water for future generations, and by educating residents on the value of water. A quick landscape check now can make a big difference later.

✅ Check if your plants are wilting

Some wilting is normal. Check the soil before watering.

✅ Are you mulching the right amount?

Keep 2–3 inches of mulch around plants—but away from stems and trunks.

✅ Did you water deeply enough?

Deep watering encourages stronger, deeper roots.

✅ Is your irrigation system running at the right time?

Fix leaks, adjust sprinkler heads, and water only where it's needed.

✅ Are you planting for Texas summers?

Native and adaptive plants are well suited to our local climate.
