Last month San Leon Fire responded to 91 emergency calls keeping our volunteer department very busy here’s the breakdown.
67 – Rescue \ EMS Calls

San Leon Fire was dispatched to a motor vehicle accident with reported injuries and possible entrapment in the 2600 block of State Highway 517, just east of the intersection with 27th Street. Upon arrival, Squad 2 found a single-vehicle accident in which the vehicle had left the roadway. Squad 2 assisted Galveston Emergency Medical Services in evaluating the occupants. Engine 1 and Tanker 1 ensured scene safety, provided lighting, and assisted the Galveston County Sheriff’s Office with traffic control.

San Leon Fire responded to a mutual aid request from the city of Texas City for a reported building fire in the 1400 block of State Highway 146. When Engine 1 arrived, firefighters held a brief face-to-face meeting with Texas City Fire command. It was determined that the building had been abandoned for some time and was in a state of disrepair. Engine 1 personnel provided additional manpower to assist Texas City Fire with extinguishing the fire, and Tanker 1 was requested to supply additional water at the scene.

San Leon Fire was dispatched to a reported fire outside in the area of 24th Street, south of State Highway 517. After a brief investigation by Engine 1, firefighters located a large debris fire in the 2400 block of Avenue N. Booster 1 was requested to assist Engine 1 with extinguishing the fire. Tanker 1 was also called to provide additional water supply and support personnel at the scene.
