From cadets to 2nd Lieutenants 🇺🇸✈️

This past Friday, we celebrated the commissioning of our newest Second Lieutenants as they officially begin the next chapter of their Air Force careers. Your hard work, resilience, and dedication have led you to this moment, and we could not be more proud to watch you take this next step as leaders in the world’s greatest Air Force.

A special thank you to Lt Col Giebler for joining us as our guest speaker and for sharing your wisdom and encouragement on such an important day.

Congratulations as well to all of our award recipients, including those recognized as Distinguished Graduates and recipients of the ROTC Scholastic Excellence Medal. Your achievements are a true reflection of your commitment to excellence.

The future is bright, and it is in great hands. Aim High, LTs! 💙

This past weekend, our cougar cadets came together for our Dining Out to celebrate and close out a successful semester!

The evening featured inspiring words from guest speaker Lt Col Phathavong, plenty of tradition, and a few unforgettable moments-especially the infamous grog bowl for those who broke dining out rules.

This was a night full of camaraderie and memories we won’t forget. Cheers to a spectacular end to the semester. 🥂

Leadership Laboratory (LLAB) Week 15 – Leadership Reaction Course (LRC), Obstacle Course, & Change of Command

For our last LLAB, our Cougar cadets headed to a JROTC obstacle course and took on LRCs, working together to complete objectives like crossing obstacles using only the resources we were given. It was a great way to put our teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills to the test.

We also held our Change of Command, welcoming new leadership and recognizing cadets with awards like GMC of the Semester, leadership awards, and most improved.

Special shoutout to C/Capt Ramirez for earning a $12k scholarship, and our very own Public Affairs Assistant, C/Igwegbe, on getting AS100 of the semester!

Overall, it was a great semester and an even better way to end it—strong, rewarding, and full of growth. Can’t wait to see what next semester brings and all that our cadets accomplish over the summer!

Week 14 Leadership Laboratory (LLAB)- Flight Drill Evaluations (FDEs)

For our last drill LLAB of the semester, our cougar cadets had the opportunity to lead Flight Drill Evaluations, putting their drill knowledge into action while commanding their flights.

These FDE’s challenged cadets to maintain bearing, communicate clearly, and make quick decisions under pressure. This LLAB gave everyone a chance to grow as leaders, sharpen their command presence, and take another step toward becoming the officers they are working to be.

This LLAB was a strong reminder that leadership is built through practice, feedback, and the willingness to step outside your comfort zone.

Leadership Laboratory (LLAB) Week 13 - Civilian Response Active Shooter Events (C.R.A.S.E)

This week, Cougar cadets participated in a school shooting simulation, applying MARCH techniques alongside TCCC skills like tourniquet use and casualty care. Cadets also received briefings from law enforcement on "Avoid, Deny, Defend" and were coached by AFROTC medics.

The training emphasized teamwork, communication, and staying composed under pressure-preparing cadets to respond effectively in critical situations.

Thank you to all those who came and help enrich our cadets with knowledge!

Earlier this month, Det 003 went head-to-head with Army and Navy ROTC in the Joint Forces Cup, competing in football, soccer, and ultimate frisbee. Proud to finish strong with a 2nd place overall—showcasing teamwork, resilience, and competitive spirit every step of the way. 🥈

Leadership Laboratory (LLAB) Week 12– Second GMC Takeover

This week, Det 003 carried out its second GMC takeover for this semester, affording the opportunity to GMC cadets to take over the role of POC and conduct an outdoor GLP. The cadets were separated into two squadrons, with each squadron being split into two flights in conducting a field scenario involving intelligence, MEDEVAC, SecFo teams, warrior knowledge, small unit formations, and sudden developments in operation.

The task was to conduct oneself by demonstrating professionalism and the ability to lead and communicate with team members in spite of sudden changes in operation like change in command and invasion.

Stay tuned for what Det 003 has in store for next week!
