WEATHER ALERT:

Tropical Storm Edouard is expected to move ashore along the upper Texas coast today, bringing the potential for heavy rainfall, thunderstorms and localized flooding to the Houston area.

Now is a good time to prepare and make sure you and your family are ready:

• Turn Around, Don’t Drown. Never drive through a flooded roadway. It only takes a few inches of moving water to sweep a vehicle away.
• Avoid unnecessary travel during periods of heavy rain, especially if roads begin to flood.
• Secure outdoor items such as trash cans, patio furniture and decorations that could become hazardous in strong winds.
• Keep your phone charged and have flashlights, batteries and other emergency supplies readily available.
• Stay weather aware. Monitor local weather reports and alerts throughout the day and be prepared to change your plans if conditions worsen.
• Never drive around barricades or ignore road closure signs. If a roadway is closed, find another route.
• Check on family, friends and neighbors who may need additional assistance preparing for severe weather.

Please remember that conditions can change quickly. Stay alert, use caution and give yourself extra time when traveling.

Thank you to everyone who came out for the Villages Back to School Ice Cream Social on Wednesday!
We enjoyed spending the evening with our community, visiting with families, and celebrating the start of a new school year.
A special thank you to Hedwig Village Police Department, Village Fire Department, Cosmic Ice Cream, and Chubbies Sliders for helping make this event a success!
We hope all of our students, teachers, and families have a safe and fantastic school year!

The Hedwig Village Police Department was proud to join our friends at the Spring Valley Village Police Department and Village Fire Department for the Villages Back to School Ice Cream Social at Spring Valley City Park!

It was a great turnout and a wonderful evening filled with lots of fun with the kiddos, visiting with our neighbors, and, of course, some tasty treats from Cosmic Ice Cream and Chubbies Sliders! 🍦🍔

Events like this are what make the Villages such a special place to live, work, and serve. We always enjoy the opportunity to spend time with our community—especially when ice cream is involved!

A big THANK YOU to everyone who came out and helped make the event such a success. We hope all of our students, teachers, staff, and families have a safe and fantastic school year!

We had a great time visiting Valley Oaks Elementary yesterday! We talked with students about bicycle and scooter safety and shared some safety tips at our booth. We also handed out rubber ducks and other goodies to make safety a little more fun!

It's back-to-school season, which means more children will be walking, biking, and riding the bus each day.

As students head back to the classroom, we ask everyone to do their part to keep our roads safe.

-Reduce your speed in school zones.
-Stop when school buses have their red lights flashing.
-Stay alert for students crossing the street.
-Keep your eyes on the road and your phone out of reach.
-Leave a few minutes early so you don't have to rush.

A few extra moments of caution can make all the difference. Let's work together to help every student have a safe and successful school year!
