Preparing Students for the Workforce!

TPSD students recently had the opportunity to experience the job interview process with Edison Chouest Offshore, gaining valuable real-world experience as they prepare for life beyond the classroom.

From completing the application process to participating in interviews, our students are developing the communication, professionalism, confidence, and workplace skills that employers are looking for.

Superintendent Cory Butler was on hand for the experience, along with William Simmons, Jr., Principal of Louis Miller Career and Technical High School, to support and encourage students as they took this important step toward their futures.

This workforce initiative is part of the TPSD Curriculum Department, under the leadership of Darrell Dillard, Supervisor of Secondary Education, with assistance from Carla Starr, Career and Technical Education Coordinator. Their work helps create meaningful opportunities for students to connect their education and career interests with real-world workforce experiences.

We are proud to see our students stepping up, representing themselves and their schools, and gaining firsthand experience in what it takes to enter the workforce.

A special thank-you to Edison Chouest Offshore for investing in our students and helping provide meaningful opportunities to connect education with the world of work.

Every Student, Every Day!

A special thanks to HTV10 for covering this important event and helping our students with the recognition they deserve!
