What a busy, fun Halloween week it has been. It started out with judging pumpkins at Horn Lake Intermediate School, then judging Red Ribbon Week posters at Horn Lake Middle School, trunk or treating at Horn Lake Elementary, and wrapped up with some special little trick or treaters dropping by the PD to give the officers on night shift a visit.

We have enjoyed every bit of it and appreciate the opportunity to be a part of everyone's Halloween!

We would like to congratulate Officer Alexander (center) for graduating from the Mississippi Delta Law Enforcement Training Academy today with basic class 81. Officer Alexander graduated in the top 5 for academics, in the top 5 for fi****ms, and 5th overall. Now the real work starts. 🫡

Congratulations to the graduates of our Citizen's Police Academy!

Participants spent time over the past nine weeks working mock crime scenes, working with the DUI, TACT, and K9 units, flying our drone, doing ride alongs and mock traffic stops, getting a taste of dispatch work, touring the Desoto County Jail, and certified in Citizen's Response to Active Shooter Events (CRASE).

We had a great time getting to know them and introducing them to our day to day. We thank them for their dedication to their city, interest in our passion, and being willing to get out of their comfort zones!

Keep an eye out for applications to our next Citizen's Police Academy!

The Horn Lake Police Department is asking for assistance in helping locate 22 y.o. Cheyenne Jones. She was last seen around 10:55pm on 09/26/2025 at Coldwater One Stop located at Hwy 306 and Interstate 55 in Coldwater, MS. She was last seen wearing a black hat, black jacket, and black pants. She also can be described as having a sword and axe tattoo on the right side of her neck and letters tattooed down the center. If you have seen Cheynne Jones, or know her whereabouts, please contact the Horn Lake Police Dept. at 662-393-6174.
