ership reflects the rich diversity and values of Hawai‘i. Through strategic advocacy and grassroots mobilization, we work to elect leaders who uplift equality, equity, protect civil rights, and foster inclusivity in governance. We also support state laws, and state constitutional amendments that advance justice and fairness for all, ensuring that the laws of Hawai‘i reflect the spirit of aloha and justice (kaulike). By stirring hearts, minds, and actions, HOKU PAC strives to build a future where all people—regardless of gender identity, sexual orientation, or background—can thrive with dignity, respect, and aloha. Purpose

HOKU PAC is established as a non-partisan and standard noncandidate committee pursuant to Hawai‘i State law to:
1. Support and promote māhū and LGBTQIA+ candidates, as well as allied candidates, running for county and state offices in the state of Hawai‘i.
2. Advocate for and support state constitutional amendments and public policies that advance equality, justice, and civil rights.
3. Advocate against state constitutional amendments and public policies that damage equality, justice, and civil rights.
4. Engage and activate communities in political participation aligned with the values of Ha‘aheo (pride), ‘Ohana (family), Kaulike (justice), and Ui (activating action).

Following assessments of school campuses and surrounding community conditions, the Hawaiʻi State Department of Education (HIDOE) will keep public schools and offices closed statewide on Monday, Aug. 17.

The additional closure will allow time to complete campus safety assessments, restore utilities where necessary and address storm-related impacts.

The Department will continue working with county and state partners and will provide updates regarding Tuesday's operations as additional information becomes available.

Previously announced extended closures on Hawai‘i Island for Nā‘ālehu Elementary and Ka‘ū High & Pāhala Elementary School remain in effect.

This is a grassroots campaign and Shannon has pledged to not take private corporate interest money and denounces wasteful Super PAC spending, as her goal is always to represent community not corporations.

The Hawaiʻi State LGBTQ+ Commission is dedicated to advancing equity, inclusion, and opportunity for the Māhū, LGBTQIA+/MVPFAFF+ community, connecting their voices and the Hawaiʻi State government. We serve as a vehicle for collaboration, advocacy, and education, promoting public awareness and policy change to ensure equal rights. Through civic engagement and partnerships at all levels, we strive to create a more just and inclusive Hawaiʻi for all.

We encourage all members of Hawai‘i’s māhū, LGBTQIA+, and QTPI+ community to apply for a board or commission that deals with an area that interests them.
