Interested in serving on the Honolulu Youth Commission?

Applications are now open for Council District 3's representative on the Honolulu Youth Commission. I encourage interested applicants ages 14-24 on the Windward side to apply. The Commission advises the Mayor and the City Council on issues affecting youth while providing young leaders with opportunities to engage in local government.

Applications are due on July 22, 2026.

I also wanted to mahalo our current Youth Commissioner Taimane Matua, who is currently a student at Hawaiʻi Pacific University, for her service representing District 3 on the Honolulu Youth Commission. Over the course of her term, she helped elevate the voices of young people in our Windward community and brought valuable perspectives to discussions on issues affecting Oʻahu's youth. I am grateful for her contributions and wish her continued success in all that lies ahead.
