The Rockcastle County Sheriff's Office is investigating a residential Burglary where a large amount of gold and silver bars, coins, and other items were stolen. Anyone who has received any of these items is asked to contact our 911 Communications Center at 606-256-2121. Any assistance in recovering any of these items would be appreciated.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Louisville Field Office is warning about scammers impersonating local sheriff’s offices, demanding immediate payment or threatening arrest. Remember - legitimate law enforcement will never call and demand money or direct you to a cryptocurrency ATM.

Our greatest earthly responsibility and our greatest earthly honor is to bring up our children the love of the Lord and in a safe, loving environment.
On December 22, thanks to the generosity of businesses, Renfro Valley Entertainment and individuals in Rockcastle county , members of the Rockcastle County Sheriff's Office, Mt Vernon Police Dept., Mt Vernon fire Dept and the local office of the Cabinet for Families and Children, had the privilege of sharing and receiving love from local children and parents by participating in the Shop With A Hero program.
Thanks to all who donated time, money and their hearts to this project.
Y'all shared the Spirit of Christ and gave the children a Christmas to remember!
We are honored to serve the citizens of our county!
We pray you and your family will have a Blessed Christmas and New Year!
