Marshall County Library Summer Reading Program

The Marshall County Library System’s summer activities, with a theme of “Unearth A Story,” will focus on promoting reading challenges through storytelling, crafts, live shows, and prize incentives for children this summer.
The program for the Marshall County Library System is coordinated by the system with locations in Byhalia, Potts Camp, and Holly Springs. Each location will be guided by the same curriculum. However, specific activities from the curriculum will be selected at each location. Some activities selected by one location may or may not be identical to all locations.
The Summer Reading Program schedule for each location is as follows:
Byhalia: June 9, 16, and 23; July 7, 14, and 21.
Potts Camp: June 10, 17, and 24; July 8, 15, and 22.
Holly Springs: June 11, 18, and 25; July 9, 16, and 23.
For additional information related to your location, please call 662-838-4024 (Byhalia), 662-333-7068 (Potts Camp), and 662-252-3823 (Holly Springs).

Today, we pause to honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. Their courage, service, and love for this nation will never be forgotten. As we gather with family and friends, let us remember those who gave all so that we may live in liberty and peace.

“Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.” — John 15:13 (KJV)

On May 7, 2026, the spirit of love, unity and faith electrified Holly Springs and Marshall County as residents gathered for a powerful Day of Prayer, centered around the theme “Glorify God Among the Nations, Seeking Him in All Generations,” inspired by 1 Chronicles 16:24. This inspiring event drew together pastors, business leaders, elected officials, and community members, all eager to embrace the transformative power of collective prayer in these uncertain times.

Kicking off the day at the Marshall County Courthouse at 6:00 AM, the gathering continued at Holly Springs City Hall at noon and culminated at the Eddie L. Smith Multipurpose Center at 6:00 PM. Throughout this uplifting day, various members of the clergy and community led participants in heartfelt prayers, focusing on vital areas such as the church, family, government, military, workplace, schools and education, and media.

Alderwoman Patricia L. Merriweather emphasized the importance of faith, stating, “With as much unrest, uncertainty, and dismay, in our world, nation, state, city, and community, it is imperative that we turn to God for guidance, wisdom, and direction.”

This Day of Prayer not only fostered unity and collaboration but also provided comfort and clarity in a time of turmoil, aligning the community’s goals with a shared spiritual vision. Special thanks to the South Reporter and WKRA 92.7 for their support in promoting this meaningful event.🙏
