Update on outages per Mr. Michael Watson HSUD:

 Good evening. The crews have gotten most of the main lines on. They just picked up South Slayden. They are going to work until 11 tonight and start at 6 tomorrow morning.

I estimate we have about 2,000 out now. We were probably at 3,000 at the height of the storm.

All three crews from Louisiana are here and working.

Tomorrow New Albany and North Central will be sending crews to help.

I believe we will work it down to a few hundred tomorrow.

By Tuesday we should have it down to onsie twosies.

All on COB Wednesday.

PLANNED POWER OUTAGE NOTICE

Please be advised that a planned power outage is scheduled to begin at 12:00 am midnight.

The outage will affect portions of the following areas:

Laws Hills
Old Highway 4
Highway 7 South

The outage is expected to last approximately two hours while necessary work is completed to improve the electrical system.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as crews perform this important maintenance. Every effort will be made to restore power as quickly and safely as possible.

Please Share Share! Our cooling Center is open at the Eddie L. Smith Multi Purpose Center during Extreme Heat Conditions.

Dangerous heat is expected across Mississippi today (7/20/2026) through Wednesday (7/22/26).

🥵 Heat indices could reach 110° to 115° in the Mississippi Delta, and heat indices could reach up to 110° throughout the rest of the state. Prolonged time outdoors could quickly lead to heat exhaustion or heat stroke.

💧 Drink plenty of water and take frequent breaks if you're outside.
🏠 Move to air conditioning whenever possible.
🚗 Never leave children or pets in a parked vehicle.
