Judge Marsh also worked as the Assistant District Attorney and has served the last eight years as Associate District Judge for Kiowa County. Rick and Debbie had a fun weekend celebrating Hobart’s 125th! Rick and Debbie have lived in Hobart since 1988. They raised their two kids, Kelcey and Lindsey, in the Hobart public schools. Rick has worked in Hobart for his entire career, starting at Perry, Gentry, Perry, Marsh before working out of the Kiowa County Courthouse as Assistant District Attorney and now Associate District Judge.

Rick and Debbie had the opportunity to attend a banquet on Saturday night, representing Hobart Rotary Club along with several other members. The Hobart Rotary club has been in existence for 107 years. Rick has been a member of the Hobart Rotary Club for over 40 years. The members were tallying up their cumulative membership experience, and it added up to approximately 150 years, just at that one table!

We were so excited to see such a good turnout for the celebration and look forward to many more years! Happy birthday Hobart! 🎊🥳🎊

⚖️ “Back in the late 1990's when I became Kiowa County Associate District Judge, Rick Marsh was a practicing attorney with a varied and very active practice.

Later, he became Assistant District Attorney, first on a part time basis and then in a full time capacity. He handled both part time and full time responsibilities with the same passion and competence. During my twenty plus (20+) years on the bench, Mr. Marsh appeared before me literally thousands of times. In these appearances he was always on time and treated all parties with respect. He was always professional and most important, he was knowledgeable, both in the law, courtroom procedure, and also trial procedures. This legal competence was obtained through his years of private practice and from his years of public service as assistant district attorney. Both allowed him to obtain the needed experience which is needed to serve as a judge.

For the last seven plus (7+) years he has served as your Associate District Judge with competence and integrity.

Over those years, I had the opportunity to know Ricky Marsh in several professional roles —as a private attorney, an Assistant District Attorney, and now as the Associate District Judge for Kiowa County.

What a great few days at the Mountain View Free Fair! 🎡

Rick, Debbie, and their family enjoyed dinner and time at the fair each evening, watched part of the livestock show, and participated in the parade on Saturday morning.

From good food and fun rides to catching up with old friends and meeting new ones, it was a wonderful weekend celebrating community. Big thank you to the Mountain View students, volunteers, and everyone who worked so hard to make this year’s Mountain View Free Fair another outstanding event. We always enjoy seeing so many familiar faces and spending time with our community!

As we celebrate Independence Day, we also commemorate 250 years of American freedom, courage, and opportunity. This historic milestone reminds us of the enduring principles upon which our nation was founded and the responsibility we all share to preserve them for future generations.

Today, may we reflect with gratitude on the sacrifices of those who secured our independence and those who continue to protect our freedoms.

Judge Rick Marsh has spent decades serving the people of Southwest Oklahoma, with experience in every facet of the legal system.

⚖️ Private Practice: For 18 years, Rick represented individuals, families, businesses, and financial institutions in a wide range of legal matters, including civil, criminal, probate, domestic, bankruptcy, and banking law. He also served as city attorney for Lone Wolf and Hobart and as municipal judge for Snyder and Hobart.

⚖️ Assistant District Attorney: Rick went on to serve Kiowa County as an Assistant District Attorney, where he prosecuted thousands of felony and misdemeanor cases, including some of the most serious criminal offenses.

⚖️ Associate District Judge: Since taking the bench in 2019, Rick has presided over thousands of cases involving criminal, civil, domestic, probate, juvenile, mental health, and traffic matters.
