If you are up early Friday morning (an hour or so before sunrise) make sure you check out a rare planetary alignment in the southeastern sky that will not happen again until 2040.
Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn have been lining up this month from left to right in the southeastern sky, in their orbital order from the sun. Friday morning the crescent moon will sneak in between Venus and Mars. Credit: Stellarium with additions by Bob King
