Special Announcentment: Historic John Shute Farm: If you are in or near Washington County please come support my sister-in-law Randy N Lisa Goldbeck. Lisa and Randy have a small farm in West Union but unfortunately the farmers markets are closed this weekend right when she has her bumper crop of the most luscious tomatoes peppers and other vegetables that you can possibly imagine. She is going to set up out at her parents farmstead off Highway 26, 4825 Starr Starr Boulevard, Hillsboro. Take the Brookwood exit. Here are some of her wonderful vegetables loaded up and ready to go right to your kitchen for canning or just plain good eating. They will be there from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. tomorrow and Sunday.

Thanks to all of you who helped us fight for the Methodist Meeting House and the Meek children's graves. We appealed through legal channels the decision of the City of Hillsboro. That legal process ended with a truce- we are getting a fantastic Monument site and the archaeology is being handled. No bones have been found and that work continues. Read more about the outcome of the case here and THANK YOU- All of You who helped and supported this most worthy cause!

UPDATE: The land use appeal of the City of Hillsboro's approval of the Majestic South II development is September 4th, 2019 at 6 PM at the Hillsboro City Hall. The developer has approached us to discuss alterations and additional protections for the site. This may include a much larger more meaningful monument and more archaeological work to get us the answers we seek. They seem to be earnest and there are discussions going on to try and work through a solution. Having said that we appreciate all of you who can come to the hearing and say a few words or just be there for us and the cause! We hope to see you all there and wish us good luck!
