Outside of Hudson, in Ghent, you'll find Art. Big impressive fun art at ART OMI sculpture garden. OMI is the towns name. Its a Long drive of more than an hour from Highland but so beautiful a drive. It's free. Dogs acceptable on leash. Hundreds of acres. Culturefy yourself. GO.

This is Croton Gorge reservoir dam PARK. We live in Highland, near the MH bridge. Took us less than an hour to drive Rt. 9 past Breakneck ridge and Storm King mountain to arrive at this waterfall wonder. Theres a Trail along the rim to view the lake. Picnic perfect. A Still wild, creek to explore. It's a free, beautiful place to visit. GO.

Wethersfield, Amenia. Take a deep breath and let the beauty in. This 200 acre museum and old money gardens, once belonged to the Stillman family. Outdoor sculpture,topiary blossoms every where, 2 white peacock. It's a special place for a family picnic. You pay for a house tour. General admission is free. Go on a clear day. You can see forever.

Welcome to Wethersfield, Amenia, Dutchess county. The home of old bank money, to the Stillman family, 1930s to 1960's. Fox hunt country. 200 acres with pastoral views in every direction. There's a mansion you can pay $22.00 to tour but admittance to the grounds is free. The mansion has vaulted painted ceilings, a chapel, marble floors. This beautiful place is filled with potted plants, perrenial gardens, pools, fountains, sculpture, topiary trees and a few frogs. There is an occasional albino peacock scream to roust you. What a way to soak up nature. Bring lunch. Sit. Dream. Go.
