Rutgers University President Jonathan Holloway today announced that the university will join as an amicus in the lawsuit filed by Harvard University and MIT to block the imposition of new rules that would be draconian for international students and devastating to colleges and universities across the country. RU will file as amicus on Monday, July 13, with the first hearing being Tuesday, July 14.

What is required? What documents do I need for a driver’s license?

MVC has not yet released the final list of documents accepted under the new law, but you will likely need:

➡️require proof of identity (ex: a passport, birth certificate or consular ID card),
➡️proof of NJ address (ex: a bill, lease agreement
➡️proof of age.

"Abbott’s decision was quickly decried by refugee resettlement agencies, and it goes against the urging of Texas mayors, religious groups and state lawmakers who had pushed for Texas to continue permitting refugees.

"Refugees who have been resettled in other states may still come to Texas after they have reached the U.S., a fact that Abbott acknowledges in his letter."

Under President Donald Trump’s Sept. 26 executive order, cities and states must provide written consent to allow refugees to resettle within their areas. Texas becomes the first state to not allow written consent.

In the second half of the 19th century, Chinese workers were the backbone of those who helped stretch America’s railroad network from coast to coast after the Civil War. Yes! Highland Park was an early supporter of driver's licenses for all and we're so excited that this is finally becoming a reality!

Republican lawmakers argued the bill would promote breaking the law.

There are more than 466,000 undocumented immigrants of driving age in New Jersey...And 14 states, including New York and Delaware, have enacted laws allowing residents to obtain drivers licenses regardless of their immigration status.

The bill has the backing of Gov. Phil Murphy.
