Please be weather aware this weekend, and be prepared for possible significant weather.

Hopefully you haven't packed away your snow shovel or heavy coats yet. We've been pretty lucky to avoid significant winter weather conditions so far this season, but the forecast is looking like that'll change. Harvey County is included in a WINTER STORM WATCH and EXTREME COLD WATCH for this weekend.

❄️ There is a strong probability for 4 inches of snow in Harvey County. There is some possibility for upward of 8 inches of snow. Snow is expected to begin Friday afternoon and continue into Sunday morning.

🌬️ Wind chills are anticipated to dip well below zero as the storm rolls in. Dangerous cold will begin Friday morning and linger into Monday.

🧤 Take precautions. If you have to travel, prep your vehicle and have emergency items handy. Try to run errands before the weather settles in, or let them wait 'til after if they can. Avoid extended time outdoors, and if you must be outside, dress warm.

Common sense preparedness now can go a long way toward a safe weekend!
