Elected Member for Hesperia Recreation and Park District 2020-2024
Vice-President ASBCSD, San Bernardino County Special Districts Board
Hesperia City Council Advisory Board My family moved to Hesperia in 1971, I am one of four boys that spent most of my time at Lime street park, home to the best Hesperia days. My father was very active in the community helping different organizations. Optimist
club was a big part of our life. I went to Hesperia schools and married my high school sweetheart. We have three boys all of which played sports in Hesperia, mostly soccer. Two of our boys are veterans that served in Iraq and Afghanistan. All 3 of our boys are homeowners and business owners right here in Hesperia. We also have three granddaughters who enjoy going to the parks and attending kids kamp. In 2010, I decided to give back to the community and was elected to the Hesperia Recreation and Park District board to represent the taxpayer's of Hesperia. I promised to help bring back BMX and to get a skate plaza so that the youth would have something to do and be active. Both of those projects have come to fruition. I think we need to continue to fund projects like these and reduce the overhead costs for salaries and benefits. Currently approximately 92% of our general fund goes to fund salaries and benefits! This is at the least irresponsible management. My plan for the next four years would be to reduce unfunded liabilities and to push for additional baseball fields, basketball courts, and lighting for soccer fields at the lake. Also, permanent restrooms, clean facilities and make improvements to our veterans memorial at Hesperia lake park. I am always available and willing to listen to community input, as the taxpayers are ultimately who we are responsible to.
