Hersheypark Halloween and Dark Nights opened for their 5th season this past weekend! There are a ton of additions and enhancements across the entire event for 2026. Highlights include evening dance parties with the Hershey’s Characters in the Avenue of the Afterlife scare-free zone, Sweet Greets at both Hersh’s Hangout and Reese’s Cup House locations (check the app for appearance times), a variety of seasonal food & beverage options across the park, improved nighttime decorations, the park’s first IP-based haunted attraction & 5th Scare Zone with Reese’s Depot of Doom, the return of Halloween Tasting Passes, new themed retail items, Spirits Rooftop Bar at The Chocolatier, and the first fall season for the new Hershey Inn & Suites select service hotel. Additionally, each haunted house has received new scenes and evolved storylines. Dark Rides on select roller coasters has returned, and the Hershey’s Trick Or Treat Trail is available for children ages 12 and under. Character experiences, shows, rides & coasters, Treatville, 5 haunted houses, and 5 scare zones are all included with park admission at no extra charge. We had an amazing experience this weekend and can’t wait to visit again soon! The event runs weekends through November 1, 2026 and is a must do this fall season. NEW COASTER ANNOUNCEMENT: Six Flags Magic Mountain, the Thrill Capital of the World and one of Southern California’s premier theme parks, today announced that Thrill Glider, a first-of-its-kind roller coaster, will debut in 2027. Created exclusively for Magic Mountain, the attraction combines flying, motorbike and suspended coaster technologies to establish an entirely new roller coaster category: the Thrillglider. It will combine the freedom of flight with the intensity of a multi-launch thrill coaster, delivering an experience unlike anything guests have ever ridden.

Developed by world-renowned coaster manufacturer Vekoma for Six Flags Magic Mountain, Thrill Glider riders will board hovercycles — flying-bike vehicles — and assume a prone, face-forward position suspended beneath the track. The custom-designed, terrain-following layout encompasses 20 unique track elements and packs an action-filled 80 seconds into a dynamic aerial adventure. Guests will launch multiple times to speeds reaching 50 mph, encounter 12 airtime moments, soar through five unique inversions (wing-over, zero-g roll, overbanked stall turn, barrel roll and upward barrel roll) and race through a dramatic station fly-by as they traverse nearly 3.5 acres. Enhanced by synchronized onboard audio and immersive lighting effects, every moment is designed to amplify the sensation of speed, flight and freedom.

Thrill Glider will immerse visitors in the world of QuantumPulse Propulsion Systems, a visionary technology company led by inventor and entrepreneur Rebecca Silva. The journey begins long before takeoff in “The Futurist Pavilion,” a sleek showcase facility filled with dynamic displays, holographic presentations and scientific exhibits detailing the company’s discovery of PSR B417, a powerful new energy source with the potential to transform tomorrow. As riders make their way through the queue, they catch glimpses of towering hexagonal collectors embedded into the hillside, harvesting energy from distant pulsars in space.

The ride is already under construction and is scheduled to open in 2027.

We recently visited and had a fantastic experience at Dutch Wonderland towards the end of this summer! So many classic and fun attractions mixed with delicious food in a beautiful setting. Looking forward to Happy Hauntings and Dutch Winter Wonderland seasonal events!

On a surprise basis, you may sometimes encounter other sweet friends joining the core characters. Generally speaking, each meet & greet lasts up to 30 minutes, however…times, characters, and locations are always subject so change, so our tip is to arrive early!

As part of the America 250 celebration at Hersheypark, all 3 Sweet Greets locations have been decked out with patriotic theming and you’ll find new star-spangled overlays on Hersh, Miss Kiss, and Reese - all summer long! NEW COASTER ANNOUNCEMENT: Six Flags Great Adventure today unveiled BAKUNAWA, the world’s tallest and fastest spinning launch coaster. Debuting in 2027, it will serve as the signature attraction of the park’s transformed Boardwalk area.

Inspired by the lore of Bakunawa, the legendary sea serpent of Philippine mythology, BAKUNAWA blends cutting-edge engineering with immersive thematic design to deliver an experience unlike anything else in the world.

Standing 382 feet tall, BAKUNAWA joins an elite class of giga coasters, ranking among the five tallest roller coasters in the world while reaching speeds of 100 mph. Guests will board the world’s first free-spinning, floorless coaster trains that rotate naturally throughout the ride, ensuring no two experiences are exactly alike.

Every ride aboard BAKUNAWA is different. The two-minute, 17-second journey begins with the first of three linear synchronous motor launches taking the train from 0 to 60 mph before climbing high above The Boardwalk.

Midway through the experience, riders encounter the second (and world’s first) upside-down launch, accelerating from 60 to 80 mph while completely inverted before the third and final launch propels the train to 100 mph. At the top of the massive tower, the train enters a spiral into a 180-degree bank, giving riders unprecedented views of Six Flags Great Adventure below and endless sky above.

Each of the two, 20-passenger trains surfaces from the depths and speeds through the 3,163 foot course with its free-spinning, floorless vehicles rotating independently, creating a unique combination of spins, views and sensations every cycle. Riders must be at least 48” tall to ride BAKUNAWA.

Beginning today, guests can purchase a 2027 Gold Season Pass at the lowest price available this year and next. Benefits include unlimited visits, free parking, access to other Six Flags parks in the region, and admission to fan-favorite events such as Fright Fest and Holiday in the Park.
