Slim's Leatherworks I'm a Firefighter/Paramedic from Desoto County that got into leather work to make my own helmet fronts. Ended up loving it... the rest is history.

Ordered some new goodies for leather working and better quality tools will equal a better product! I'm very excited to start using them... along with a new computer that will allow me to better design fronts as well!

Finished up a shield for my buddy today.
He left the finish up to me and I'm an absolute sucker for patina. Distressed the paint then antiqued it.
Added a black edge for a little more of a finished look.

Really hope you enjoy it, Bud! I had a lot of fun working on it.

Slim’s Leatherworks

My story? Well, firstly I’m a husband to an amazing woman and the father to three awesome kiddos! My interest in leather work began when I donned my first traditional fire helmet and thought how cool it would be to have a custom front for it. Something personalized for me representing my department, my station, my guys (and gals). When my son was born i HAD to have a picture of him in my helmet with a front on it... so I finally ordered one. I loved it so much I began working with leather and the rest is, as they say, history.

Fronts made by Slim’s Leatherworks are 100% handmade. A computer is sometimes used in the design process but manufacturing is done completely by hand... the old school way, all the way down to being hand sewn. If you have any questions, feel free to shot me a PM and ask!
