INFORMATION FOR HOLIDAY AIR TRAVELERS...
The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) is expecting a busy end-of-year holiday travel season, which will likely reach record passenger levels, with a projected 44.3 million travelers at our nations airports. The busiest travel day is expected to be Sunday, December 28 with about 2.9 million travelers.
To battle large crowds and increased line wait times, travelers should allow extra time at airports and take advantage of family TSA and Military TSA lanes, if you qualify. Also, don't forget to have your REAL ID, or approved equivalent ready!

This week Herkimer County Threat Assessment, Herkimer County BOCES and NYS Homeland Security co-sponsored a Basic Threat Assessment Management Course in Herkimer. The course was attended by about 70 professionals from Herkimer, Oneida and Otsego Counties, including education, mental health, public health, law enforcement, social services, healthcare, etc. It was a great turnout. We would like to thank BOCES for their hospitality!

UPDATE: 10:05AM....THIS SUBJECT HAS TENTATIVELY BEEN LOCATED OUT OF THE AREA.

A number of Herkimer County school districts have gone on LOCKOUT this morning at the request of Law Enforcement.

Law Enforcement is attempting to locate a 29 yr old male subject with past mental illness history and out of an abundance of caution and being proactive, they requested the lockouts.

To be clear, THERE HAVE BEEN NO DIRECT THREATS TO ANY SCHOOL OR BUSINESS. Again, there have been no threats to any school.

This action is only to assure the safety of our children and schools.
