Our Newcomers and Community Club is a non-profit social/service organization open to residents of the entire Sumner county area and beyond. We only need to look around to discover that we live in a growing area! Most of our members have been relocated from all parts of the country. Without family and close friends nearby, the Newcomers Club is a wonderful opportunity to meet new friends and develop lasting relationships. Whether you are new to the area or a longtime resident, we'd like to get to know you! Please check out our web site at www.NewcomersSumner.org to see all of the activities we offer.

*reservation is due to Irene Calderon on TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 29th by 8:00 PM. This is the date Bluegrass requires.

Our Volunteer Group, headed by Kristin Koehler, is in need of some donations at the October Luncheon.
🎃Halloween Candy Donations: Candy can be dropped off at the main entrance at the bottom of the stairs. There will be clearly marked bags for Newcomer Trick-or-Treat candy.
📚 Free Little Library Book Drive: We’ll also be collecting gently used book donations to help restock the vandalized Free Little Library in Gallatin. A donation bin will be located at the same main entrance, right next to the candy collection.

*luncheon speaker will be Chris Gonzales. He will be speaking about emergency preparedness. Chris Gonzales is a father of three Hendersonville students, a former Hendersonville Fire Captain, a Marine Corps Combat Veteran, and a small business owner.

October Charity of the Month is the Meals on Wheels - Gallatin which operates under the name Mid-Cumberland Meals on Wheels. It serves the Gallatin, Portland, Westmoreland, Bethpage and Castillion Springs areas of Sumner County. Hot meals are planned by a registered dietician and prepared in a commercial kitchen Monday – Friday and delivered to the various meal sites. From those meal sites, volunteers pick up the meals and deliver them to individual homes. They also received a Grant to provide pet food (cats & dogs) one time a month to some qualifying individuals. Please be generous at the Giving Tree in order to support this charity!

There will be door prizes this luncheon. Remember to put your name in a prominent place on the item you bring.

Reservations for the luncheon can be made by phone, text, or online:
1) Phone or text IRENE CALDERON at 845-596-3421.
2) Email to [email protected]

The cost of the luncheon is $35. If you reserve late, we may not have room. Our number is given to Bluegrass 10 days before the luncheon, and we cannot change it as the food is already purchased! You can pay at the door, mail in a check, or pay, in advance, online.
