The dust of the primaries have settled and the real work begins. I am still fighting for the future of Rusk County and have no plans of leaving the race. Some confusion may have been had on primary night by KLTV 7 live news reporting or miswording, but I still stand strong and picking up speed toward November.

As winter weather moves into East Texas, I encourage everyone to take a few simple precautions now — protect your pipes, prepare for possible outages, and avoid unnecessary travel if roads become icy. Please also check on neighbors who may need help. Looking out for one another is what strong communities do.
