We are a diverse group of Helenans from all parts of our community, from the North Valley to the South Hills, the westside to the river, who are joining together to pass two critical bonds to rebuild and upgrade four Helena schools: rebuild Helena High and upgrade deteriorating infrastructure at Capital High, Kessler Elementary, Project for Alternative Learni
ng (PAL), and the central kitchen that serves every school in the district. Vote YES for Helena Schools on September 9, 2025! To learn more, visit yesforhelenaschools.com. As schools fall into disrepair, Helena High and Capital High students are one 70-year-old boiler failure away from being forced to share one building. We must act now to pass these two bonds that replace dangerous and outdated school buildings, giving students safe, secure, and modern classrooms and facilities so they receive the quality education vital to the future of our community. What Do the Bonds Do? Voters will be asked to approve two bonds on September 9, 2025: the high school bond that rebuilds Helena High, provides critical upgrades to Capital High and PAL (Project for Alternative Learning), and rebuilds the district’s outdated central kitchen. A second elementary school bond provides critical upgrades to Kessler Elementary, which suffers from deteriorating infrastructure leading to poor heating, air quality, ventilation, and lighting. Unlike levies, bonds are for buildings and the funds raised from these two bonds can only be used for structural upgrades, repairs, or rebuilds. They can not be spent in any other way. Helena High has a failing 70-year-old boiler, and if it fails, Helena High students will be forced to share Capital High. That leaves 2,400 students splitting days, some starting school early in the morning and others learning late into the evening. We must ask now to show our students we care.
