Our economic developer was on location to talk Southwire expansion with Congressman Mike D. Rogers. It was a great opportunity to brag on our largest employer and the impact they have had on our community.

Southwire recently welcomed U.S. Representative Mike Rogers (R-AL-3) to its manufacturing site in Heflin, Ala. to connect with company and community leaders and tour its expanding manufacturing operations.

Our locals are shining all over the place! We are proud to have Jennifer Swafford guiding the next generation of humans for our area. No one more deserving to be called counselor of the year.

Jax State alumna Jennifer Swafford ('94 & '99) is serving students, families, and her community in Cleburne County. With degrees in early childhood education, elementary education, and school counseling, Swafford has served as the school counselor for Cleburne County Middle School in Heflin, Alabama, for more than 20 years.

She was awarded the 2025 Alabama School Counselor of the Year and continues to dedicate her time investing in students through mentoring, character education, peer leadership, community partnerships, and innovative school programs. Swafford said one of the most unique and meaningful additions to the counseling program has been the facility dog, Juice.

WaterTower Films does it again with this beautiful story about Randy Owen and The Randy Owen Center for the Performing Arts. Our local creators Will and Kari Payne worked for over two years in partnership with Jax State Longleaf Studios on May Home's in Alabama: The Randy Owen Story. Tune in to APT August 8th at 7 pm.

Proud of Rhythm Cafe Heflin!!!

When I decided to open Rhythm Cafe, I never dreamed we would be where we are at today. I didn't kow what to expect or if what I had in mind would even work. I knew I wanted a place for people to come and enjoy, a place for people to laugh, a place for people to share their memories, a place for familes to reconnect, a place to feel better, a place that kids (young & old) would love, a place to share my love for music and Dolly Parton,

Because of your love, your community support, and your wanting this to be successful, we have been so blessed to receive the Main Street America & American Express Backing Small Business Enhancement Grant for $30,000.00. We are so fortunate to be selected as one of the 25 businessess for this honor! Last year the 10,000.00 we received was just a huge blessing, and this grant will just give us the opportunity to do so much more!

Over the next few months you will notice a lot of new additions to the cafe that I hope you will enjoy. The new patio asthetics, the better quality of food & service, and a greater opportunity for us to serve even more guests!

Thank you to everyone! You have no clue how grateful I am to God for giving me this wonderful gift I get to call my place of work! It's more than a cafe, and I hope each person will love to call Rhythm Cafe their CAFE! We love you all!
