We would like some feedback on our recycling program. This is a free service offered to our community members. How many of you use our recycle bins? How important do you feel this service is to our community?

The City of Hector is now accepting sealed bids for repairs needed and adding a covered porch/roof extension on our bathrooms at Linton Park. Sealed bids are due by Monday, September 21, 2026 by 4:00 p.m. The following items are required in order for your bid to be considered and must be included in the cost of the bid:

· Contractors must provide proof of liability insurance
· Contractor is responsible for providing their own dumpster and disposing of all trash and cleaning the worksite
· Contractor is responsible for locating water line and utilities

Scope of Work

*Bathroom repairs:

· Remove and dispose of old PVC plumbing
· Remove and dispose of all toilets, sinks, and urinal
· Remove and dispose of damaged sheetrock and paneling
· Install a ¾” PVC valve
· Install rectangular valve box
· Install all plumbing lines with ¾” PEX, reduce to ½” on fixtures
· Install valves for 3 toilets, 2 sinks, 1 urinal
· Install 3 toilets, 2 sinks, 1 urinal
· Install freeze-proof outdoor faucet in pre-existing hole in block wall
· Insulate all pipes
· Repair sheetrock
· Primer walls and ceiling with Kilz
· Paint exterior walls and door royal blue
· Paint all interior walls white
· Install two new lights
· Install new commercial lock door k**b with keyed entry





*Adding a covered porch/roof extension to cover sidewalk:

· Dimensions should be 7 ft. from block wall out and 18 ft. 8 in. from corner wall to corner wall to match existing roof
· Dig holes 13” x 2 ft.
· Install 6 x 6 posts
· Install 2 x 8 support beam with a minimum height of 80”
· Install 2 x 6 rafters @ 2 ft. centers
· Install 2 x 4 lathe
· Install metal roof 26 gauge (green to match existing roof)
· Install rake trim, eaves
· Install two outdoor lights and switches
· Install 3/8” plywood and paint

These keys were found at the intersection of Hwy. 105 & 27. Call 479-284-5371 or come by city hall to claim them.

He is doing a summer exchange program selling educational books and apps for families from young toddlers all the way to college prep. You may see him around the community today or he may come knocking on your door. Don’t be alarmed, he is legit and checked in at city hall to let us know what he is doing.
