The main goal of the Family Resource Center is to enhance children and students ability to succeed in school by assisting students and families in meeting basic, critical, and enhanced needs. What services does the Goodridge Elementary Resource Center Provide?
- Parent and Child Interaction/ Literacy Activities such as Family Reading, Math, and Science Nights.
- Parent Involvement Activities such
as Read Across America Day, Tutoring, Volunteering, etc.
- Workshops on various topics of interest to parents such as Born Learning, etc.
- Referral to and/or provision of after school and summer activities.
- Referrals to day care services
- Referrals to family and individual counseling.
- Referrals to clothing assistance and emergency food providers.
- Accessing services for children in need
-Referrals to a variety of community agencies for a multitude of needs including social, economical, and educational.
- Referrals to medical care/ health services and special service agencies
- School Supply Assistance
- Home visits to assist parents with accessing their area of needs
- Other needs, as identified
Basic Needs
The Center can assist families with food, school supplies, shoes, coats, and clothing needs
Parent Involvement
Parent workshops, classes, and volunteer opportunities are offered frequently throughout the year by the Center. Referrals
Referrals for child care, health services, social services, financial assistance, GED training, employment, etc. can be accessed through the Family Resource Center
Parent and Family Lending Library
Parents can access helpful books, brochures, and valuable literature on a variety of topics that interest them. We have books on single parenting, ADD/ADHD, Divorce, general parenting, etc. We also have a variety of books of all levels for children to check out long term. Do your children love books but you can't afford to buy them? Do they want to keep books longer than the library allows? Visit the FRC library with them and let them choose a book. The main goal for the Goodridge Family Resource Center is to find and provide resources for your family and/ or child to be the most sucessul they can be in life, school, and beyond.
