I had so many great teachers over the years, in both the Riverdale and Hazen schools. There is one teacher, though, that was just a little different than most: Mr. Krein.

Thank you to all of the educators out there! You have one of the toughest jobs on the planet. Please know your vocation and hard work is appreciated!

Deeply honored to receive the 2025 Life Protector Award from North Dakota Right to Life. Standing up for life is one of the greatest privileges of serving District 33. Thank you to NDRL for this recognition and for your tireless work protecting those who can’t speak for themselves.

I was shocked and deeply saddened to hear about the passing of a fellow lawmaker, Representative Liz Conmy.

I had the pleasure of getting to know Liz when she and I were first elected in 2022. We sat on the same committees. Our “A” committee was Education and met Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Our “B” committee was Energy and Natural Resources and met on Thursday and Friday.

Despite us being on different sides of the aisle, we worked together on our common issues and became fast friends. She was a spitfire! I enjoyed her wit and passion especially. Both of those committees will miss her presence greatly.

I am praying for her family and the countless people that care deeply for Liz. May God grant you comfort during this difficult time.

State Rep. Liz Conmy, a Democrat from Fargo, died Saturday after a plane crash, North Dakota’s Democratic-NPL Party said Saturday evening.

I had the opportunity to participate in a career day at one of Basin Electric's sites right here in District 33. This pilot project, initiated by the Heart River Career and Technical Education Consortium, brought high school students on site to explore the good-paying career opportunities that exist right here at home.

Our lignite industry isn't just about energy, it's about strong communities and the next generation of skilled workers who will keep North Dakota thriving.I can't wait to see this program grow!

Rural students deserve the same opportunities as kids in the urban areas of North Dakota. That's why I'm working hard to expand education options in our rural schools so our kids can build futures right here at home.

I've continued to advocate for Career and Technical Education in our district, giving students hands-on training for good-paying skilled careers. I've also been working to expand AP and dual-credit course offerings in our rural schools, and I'm proud to have prime sponsored the bill ensuring every North Dakota student is offered the opportunity to say the Pledge of Allegiance at the start of the school day.

Our kids deserve common-sense education policies that prepare them for the future and instill pride in who they are and where they come from. As a mom with kids in District 33 schools, this is personal to me. I'm Anna Novak, your state representative, and I'd be honored to have your continued support.
