Two years ago today, we celebrated the opening of the Pennsy Trail extension with a special ribbon-cutting ceremony! The new bridge and extended trail created an important connection in our community and gave residents another beautiful way to walk, bike, and enjoy the outdoors.

A big thank you to our incredible Township staff and community partners who helped bring this project to life. Here are a few snapshots of some familiar faces from that special day!

And now, we’re getting ready to celebrate another exciting trail milestone. Stay tuned for the extension of the Darby Creek Trail!

September is National Recovery Month, a time dedicated to raising awareness about substance use disorders and celebrating the strength of individuals in recovery. This month highlights the importance of recovery, the positive impact it has on communities, and the vital role that support systems play in helping people overcome addiction.

National Recovery Month is a reminder that recovery is possible, and it encourages us to support those on their journey to a healthier, happier life. Let’s take this opportunity to honor the resilience of those in recovery and continue to advocate for resources and services that make recovery accessible to everyone.

Haverford Township's next Board of Commissioners Work Session is TUESDAY, September 8 at 7:00 p.m. at the Township Building (1014 Darby Road). Please be reminded that there is also a Public Hearing scheduled prior to the Work Session to discuss the Township's proposed zoning code update.

Shouting this one from the rooftops!

I absolutely love seeing this local Girl Scout troop take an idea and turn it into action for the benefit of our entire community. They saw something they wanted to do, worked together to make it happen, and created something that others can enjoy too. I love the positive message behind their project and the example they’re setting for other young people.

So proud to see our young people stepping up, giving back, and showing us what leadership looks like. I think we have some future leaders on our hands! 💚
