Hello to our Community Members,
Did you know that 44 Percent of students go home with food insecurities in the state of Massachusetts? That means that the most food that they eat is typically at school. Many families are working multiple jobs just to make ends meet and that means sometimes sacrificing full meals to pay for the essentials. We are asking for your help. Did you know that Nettle and Consentino Schools in Haverhill are utilizing food pantries in their schools to assist families with this? We are hoping that you can help us fill their food pantries. The food not only helps families of Nettle and Consentino but other schools in Haverhill Public Schools as well.
They are looking for shelf stable items: Beans, Rice, Tomato Sauce, Pasta, Bread, Canned Vegetables, Juices, Snacks, Oil, Mayo, Mac and Cheese etc
The Food collection is from May 1-12. Please do not drop off food before May 1st.
Items would need to be dropped off directly at Nettle Middle and Consentino Middle Schools. Bring your items to the front door and let security know that you are there to drop off items for the school’s food pantry. Items need to be dropped off from 9am-2:30pm M-F. If you are unable to make those times, we will be offering May 13th from 5:00PM-6:30PM at Nettle School and Possible May 14th 5:00pm-6:30pm at Consentino.
This is a Welcome to Haverhill (FB Group)event.
