Alex Townsend’s path as an artist has taken him in some unexpected but exciting directions.

What began with drawing and painting grew into sculpture, teaching, and eventually the hands-on world of public iron casting. A Hattiesburg artist and 2019 USM graduate, Alex continues to explore new ways to create and share his work with the community.

Tonight, you can experience that journey for yourself at the RSJ Community Arts Center.

Opening day is in the books, and the road to the state championships is officially underway!

We are so glad to be back at D.I. Patrick Stadium for home games and it was clear our football players and cheerleaders were too!

A special thank you to Tonya Jordan for singing the National Anthem, Richard Godoy and Kenny Fairley for their efforts in making this season possible, our volunteer cheer and football coaching staff and the Mayor’s Office and City Council for their continued support of our youth programs.
