I am a Wendy’s Wonderful Kids Supervisor with the Mississippi Department of Child Protection Services. Through its signature program, the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption provides funding to adoption agencies to hire recruiters and supervisors, like me, who are dedicated to finding loving, permanent homes for children who have been waiting in foster care the longest. Using an evidence-based, child-focused recruitment model, we begin searches with every child’s familiar circles of family, friends, and neighbors and then reach out to the communities in which they live. Our caseloads are smaller so that each child gets the time, resources, and support they deserve.
