Yesterday was a good day! Cedar Community had a Martin Luther King Jr. celebration. The best part about it was meeting new people and the sense of community. Among others, a representative from JUWC spoke and those gathered donated $545 to the organization. We are so appreciative.

From then, Sophie and our families went to the MLK celebration at Marcus Performing Arts Center. There was entertainment from Paj Nub Hli Dance Group and a high school band.

There were some pretty courageous student winners. All between the ages of 5 and up. Not only were they courageous, but they were pretty awesome. My new idol is Chad who won 1st place in the speech contest in grades 5-6. He actually won in the art contest, as well.

The focus of yesterday was not to take pictures, but it was to respect the holiday by listening and gathering and showing appreciation to others. However, there was a picture of an amazing artist taken. Her permission was granted to place on Facebook.

Looking forward to next year's MLK celebration!
