The Three Rivers Water Trail connects the Allegheny, Monongahela, and Ohio Rivers with access points, water trail landings, and points of interest around the Pittsburgh region.

While paddling the Allegheny section, take the opportunity to enjoy a picnic and explore in Allegheny Islands State Park — the only state park accessible only by boat!

Best way to deal with ticks? Don’t let them bite! Before heading out, treat your clothes and gear with permethrin, use an EPA‑registered repellent on your body, and check yourself for ticks while you’re outside and again when you get back indoors.

A new Chimney Swift Tower has been installed at Shawnee State Park. The tower serves as a safe home and nesting ground for these vulnerable birds.

Big thanks to the park staff and the Pennsylvania Game Commission's Wildlife Recovery Division who helped complete the tower!

Invasive species can take over rivers, lakes, and other natural areas throughout Pennsylvania, making fishing and boating difficult and damaging valuable habitat.

You can play a critical role in helping to stop the spread of invasive species by remembering to clean, drain, and dry your boat before leaving water access.

The PA Outdoor Corps Laurel Highlands crew has been hard at work on the Adam’s Falls Trail at Linn Run State Park.

Continuing the work that the trail crew began; they’ve completed the construction of a stone staircase that will improve the safety of the trail.

Swimming is permitted at 35 Pennsylvania state parks from late May through late August (opening and closing dates may vary) within designated beach areas.
