Good morning Harlan County. Here is the Tuesday, May 26 2026 weather report from the National weather service. It appears we will be seeing the same thing we have the past few days, chances for severe storms and more rain, but the main threat still seems to be heavy downpours possible at times that could lead to flash flooding. Overall river levels are still low, so widespread flooding seems unlikely at this time. But if a strong storm cell comes through it could drop a lot of rain in a small area, leading to some isolated flash flooding in that area. Stay weather aware and up to date with your trusted weather sources, and be cautious if you are out and driving in an area that has one of these heavy rains. Until next time, Stay Safe and Be Prepared Harlan County!

Happy EMS week to all of our EMS first responders. I know first hand all the sacrifices you make with family, physically, and mentally on a daily basis, and thank all of you for carrying that torch on every day. I hope each and every one of you have a great week, and I know you will continue to make that difference in people’s lives on their worst days imaginable. You are all still my family, and I truly appreciate all of you not only this week, but every single day of the year!
