UPDATE: Baltimore City has a Code Red Extreme Heat Alert on June 11-12, 2026. A heat advisory has also been issued for Cecil, Prince George's, Anne Arundel, Charles, St. Mary's, Calvert, and Harford counties on June 11, 2026.

Dangerous heat and humidity is expected today and tomorrow for much of Maryland with heat indexes near 100°. Check on older relatives and neighbors to ensure they have working AC. If not, help them get to a local cooling center. Access cooling centers: bit.ly/MarylandCoolingCenters.

OP&R hosted a tabletop exercise today at the Howard County Health Department with parters from across the Baltimore region to discuss what public health and medical coordination would be needed if severe storms were to hit the area. Regular exercises like this keep the state prepared and ready for any weather emergency that could affect the health and safety of Marylanders.
