October is painted in pink and blue.
But behind the ribbons are the stories no one talks about.

The positive tests that never made it to an ultrasound.
The heartbeats that stopped too soon.
The nurseries that were never filled.
The mothers who carry invisible scars.
The fathers who grieve in silence.

Pregnancy loss doesn’t end when the due date passes.
It doesn’t end when the world forgets.
It lingers, in anniversaries, in “should-have-beens,” in the quiet ache that never fully leaves.

This month isn’t about awareness alone.
It’s about breaking the silence.
It’s about saying their names.
It’s about honoring every baby gone too soon, and every parent forever changed.

Because their stories matter.
Because their lives mattered, no matter how brief.

To my baby I never got to meet,

You were so small…
but you changed me in ways I’ll never be able to explain.

I never got to feel your kicks.
I never got to hold your tiny hand.
I never got to see your eyes or hear your cry.
But I still carry you, with every breath, with every beat of my heart.

People may not understand the ache of missing someone they’ve never seen…
but I do.

Because you were real.
You were mine.
And losing you broke something in me that I’m still trying to heal.

I wanted more time.
I wanted firsts.
I wanted forever.

But instead, I was left with a due date that came and went in silence.
An emptiness no one else can see.

I will always wonder who you would’ve been.
But I will never stop loving who you already were,
my baby.
My what if.
My always.
