Each summer the Hamburg Public Library offers opportunities for youth to keep learning (and smiling!) during their time off from school. 😀 Read on to learn more about our offerings for this summer. ⭐️ ⭐️

⭐️ Our Summer Learning Program is a flexible incentive program that rewards kids for completing fun learning activities. Activity options are outlined on our Missions Log and kids work at their own pace with their families to complete any of the suggested activities. Participants are rewarded with prizes for completed missions while also earning chances to win awesome additional prizes in our end-of-program raffle!

⭐️ We also offer events for youth of all ages! Our summer schedule includes a variety of in-person events and grab-and-go kits, most of which are completely FREE!

Our incentive program and our events are two separate opportunities. Youth may participate in one or both. All of our offerings are open to any youth, regardless of hometown or whether they hold library membership.

We’re trying out a new fundraiser and couldn’t be more excited! 🤩🐶

The Hamburg Public Library is partnering with Stormi’s Heavenly Treats & More LLC, a local small business with a lot of heart. 🥰🐶 Stormi’s specializes in healthy homemade preservative-free dog treats we’re sure your pup will love! 😋

We even have a participation option that benefits both the Library and Humane Pennsylvania! ❤️ ⬇️

The Hamburg Public Library will be closed on Saturday, May 23 and Monday, May 25 in honor of Memorial Day. 🇺🇸❤️

We will reopen as scheduled on Tuesday, May 26 at 10AM.

The Hamburg Public Library will be closed Friday, May 15, for staff training. ☺️

We will reopen, as scheduled, on Saturday, May 16 at 9AM.

As a reminder, those who ordered plants from our plant sale fundraiser may pick them up at the Library on Saturday, May 16 between 9AM and 4PM. 🌱 Thank you so much for your support! 😍

We’ve started a New Chapter…❤️📚

and it’s going to be the best one yet! 🤩

On Saturday, May 2, we celebrated our new building addition with a very special Grand Opening ceremony and reception! It was wonderful to commemorate this significant moment in the Hamburg Public Library’s rich history with so many of our friends. 😍 It was such a good day! ❤️

Andrew Carnegie, whose $10,000 donation funded the construction of our original building in 1903 wrote, “The best means of benefiting the community is to place within its reach the ladders upon which the aspiring can rise.” Public libraries provide these ladders still today for those who aspire, and we are grateful for our supporters who echo Carnegie’s sentiments more than 100 years later. So, thank you to our friends and supporters. Our growth is not possible without you. We appreciate your contributions, encouragement, and understanding through this process. Our building addition symbolizes your belief in your community. ❤️

We’re so glad to have the support of our friends at the Hamburg Grange #2103 and are thrilled that they were recently awarded “Outstanding Community Organization” by the Berks County Public Libraries Advisory Board! 🤩😍

So well deserved! ✨ Many thanks to this wonderful group of people for all you do for us and our community! ❤️

We’re officially turning the page…

to our Next Chapter! 🥰❤️

And you’re invited to celebrate with us! 😍 Please join us at the Grand Opening for our new addition on Saturday, May 2 at 1PM! 🤩 We’ll begin with a ribbon cutting ceremony outside our new red entrance doors and then head inside for some light refreshments. ☺️

It’s , and today is National Library Workers Day! 🤩

I’m so grateful for the incredible team that makes the Hamburg Public Library what it is. ❤️ This year has been exciting, but also demanding, and Becky, Nikki, Noelle, Aimee, and Dan showed up every day with patience, flexibility, and care for our community. Through all the changes, they kept things running and helped move and organize nearly 20,000 items along the way! 😍

I’m really proud of this team and so grateful for everything they do. 🥰 Please join me in celebrating and thanking them this week. ❤️
