Today we were glad to welcome Makayla Washington, Program Manager of the Arkansas Single Parent Scholarship Fund - Southeast Region. This organization covers Southeast Arkansas and Lincoln County. Funds raised with this organization help single parents who are looking to further their education with an end goal of having family-supporting wages.

Scholarships could cover a down payment on a vehicle, rent, utilities, tuition, etc. For students to be considered for funding, they must show proof of enrollment in school and provide proof of income, etc.

This program is designed to continue to support single parent students throughout their education journey, while showing moral support as students work hard to complete a degree.

Want to know more about Southeast Arkansas Single Parent Scholarship Program and how you can help? Follow them on their social media page and look for their workshops! These happen every couple months.

⭐️How can you help? Bring awareness to this program. They are also a 501c3 nonprofit organization so all donations are tax deductible.m and very much appreciated!!

Walk Across Arkansas begins March 11th and ends May 12th.

Today, we were joined by our guest speakers, Amber Hairston and Harleigh Livingston from Ashley County Extension UADA.

We learned about some fun activities that are part of their local programming, including Ashley County 4-H.

One of the current events taking place is “Walk Across Arkansas”. This 8 week team-based program is a fun way to share your physical activity as you and your teammates compete with other teams! What a great way to support each other while creating a healthier of you!
