We are excited to celebrate Spaulding’s very own art teacher, Mr. Fitzgerald (Mr. Fitzy)! Mr. Fitzy is the author and illustrator of a wonderfully imaginative children’s book featuring Roar, the one and only pet dinosaur living on Earth today! Roar hatched from an egg more than 30 years ago, and his fantastical story is one that Mr. Fitzy has been sharing with his students for decades. The book is filled with 15 of Mr. Fitzy’s original, colorful, and whimsical paintings that help bring Roar’s adventures to life. Readers are in for a wild ride as they meet not only Roar, but also a talking moon, a magic lamp, a bunny family, dragons, and many familiar Chicago landmarks! We are so proud to have such a talented author and artist inspiring our students each day right here at Spaulding!
