"LANE CLOSURE – COURTHOUSE ROAD
(Gulfport, MS) – As part of a sewer tap installation project, the City of Gulfport has issued a Lane Closure for a section of the outside southbound lane of Courthouse Road between 16th Street and Highway 90.
Work is scheduled to begin Tuesday, September 8, 2026, at 8:00 a.m., and is expected to reopen by 3:00p.m. on Friday, September 11, 2026, weather permitting.
Southbound traffic on Courthouse Road will experience a lane shift into the inside lane around the work zone to accommodate traffic and help minimize disruption to citizens and businesses in the area.
The City of Gulfport urges all residents to proceed with caution and follow all traffic markers and flagger instructions in the area.

"SCHEDULED ROAD CLOSURE – Kahler Street

(Gulfport, MS) – The City of Gulfport has scheduled a Road Closure for a section of Mill Road and Kahler Street between Champlin Street and Courthouse Road to allow crews to perform tree maintenance. Work is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, beginning at 8:30 a.m. and continuing until 12:30 p.m., weather permitting.
Champlin Street and Courthouse Road will serve as the designated detour route to accommodate traffic.
While the roadway will be closed to through traffic, all residents within the affected area will continue to have access to their home.
The City of Gulfport urges all residents to proceed with caution and follow all traffic markers and flagger instructions in the area.

With the potential tropical system moving into our area over the next several days, as a precaution, we will be placing sand, bags, and shovels at the following locations: The intersection of Hewes Avenue and Glover Street, Orange Grove Community Center, and Fire Station 2. The sand is in place at this time. We will have staff available at these sites from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM and this will continue through the week as needed and as conditions allow. The residents will need to fill the bags. Our staff will also help those that need assistance. We will have our on call crew monitor the sand and bags after the designated times to determine if we need to bring out any additional materials.

"ROAD CLOSURE EXTENDED

(Gulfport, MS) – As part of the ongoing drainage installation project, the City of Gulfport is extending the ‘Road Closure’ on Tracy Street and East Tracy Street, between Franklin Avenue and Todd Drive. The closure will now remain in effect from Friday, December 12, 2025, through Wednesday, December 24, 2025, until 5:00 p.m., weather permitting

Franklin Avenue and Todd Drive will continue to serve as the designated detour route, ensuring minimal disruption to citizens and businesses in the area.

The City of Gulfport urges all residents to proceed with caution and follow all traffic markers and flagger instructions in the area.
