🚨🔥 WEEK 4 WAS ONE FOR THE BOOKS! 🔥🚨

Our Citizen Police Academy continues to be a HUGE success! This week, our citizens got an inside look at an important topic affecting communities everywhere—NARCOTICS & DRUGS. 💊🚔

Our participants learned about the dangers and impact of illegal drugs, gained valuable knowledge, and had the opportunity to ask questions and better understand the role law enforcement plays in combating this issue.

A BIG THANK YOU to Sergeant Davis of Greenwood Police Department for taking the time to educate, engage, and share his knowledge and experience with our Citizen Police Academy class! 👏🏽💙

CITIZENS POLICE ACADEMY — WEEK 3 🚨

Another great week of learning and community engagement at the Citizens Police Academy! 👮🏽‍♂️📚

During Week 3, our participants had the opportunity to learn about Criminal Law, gaining a better understanding of laws, legal concepts, and how they relate to the work of law enforcement.

A special thank you to Investigator T. Davis, who served as our instructor for this week’s class. Your knowledge, experience, and dedication helped make this an informative and engaging session!

We appreciate everyone who continues to participate, ask questions, and take an active interest in learning more about law enforcement and our community.

🚨 Citizen Police Academy — Week 2 Recap! 🚨

Week 2 of our Citizen Police Academy was another great and educational experience! Our citizens had the opportunity to tour the jail and learn more about the important responsibilities involved in corrections and public safety.

They also received valuable information on fire extinguishers, smoke detectors, and criminal fire investigations, giving everyone a better understanding of fire prevention, safety, and the investigative process.

A HUGE THANK YOU to Chief Deputy Chris Glass, Deputy/Fire Investigator Jermey Smith, and Jail Administrator Tyrone Banks for taking the time to share your knowledge, experience, and expertise with our academy participants.

🚔 Our First Citizen Police Academy Was a Success! 🚔

What an amazing start to our very first Citizen Police Academy! We are grateful to all of the citizens who came out, participated, asked questions, and took the opportunity to learn more about the people and operations behind the badge.

During our first session, citizens had the opportunity to meet Sheriff James Payne Sr., tour the Leflore County Sheriff’s Office, and learn more about the important work that takes place throughout our department. They also had the opportunity to meet and speak with Dispatcher A. Smith, gaining insight into the critical role dispatchers play in keeping our community and first responders connected.

This academy is more than just a tour—it’s about building trust, opening communication, increasing understanding, and strengthening the relationship between law enforcement and the citizens we proudly serve.

We are excited about what’s ahead and look forward to continuing this journey together. This is only the beginning! 👮🏾‍♂️🚔💙
