Meet our New Directors!

We are pleased to announce that Andréa and James Symanski will serve as the new Directors of the Loudoun County Chapter of the National League of Junior Cotillions® for the 2026-2027 season.

Andréa and James have resided in Northern Virginia for fifteen years and are active members of Belmont Country Club in Ashburn, where they serve on the Social Committee, with Andréa serving as Vice Chair of the committee. They have contributed to multiple National League of Junior Cotillions® (NLJC®) advisory committees and bring extensive event planning experience to the role.

The Symanskis are deeply committed to the mission of the National League of Junior Cotillions® and its focus on developing character and leadership in young people. All four of their children are enrolled in NLJC® programs, with their two eldest daughters having served as teaching assistants.

We extend our sincere gratitude to outgoing director Mrs. Lisa Hale for her outstanding leadership and look forward to building upon her legacy in the year ahead.

As we prepare for Memorial Day, we pause to honor and express our deepest gratitude to the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation.

Their courage, dedication, and selflessness have secured and preserved the freedoms we cherish and pass on to the next generation. We remember them with profound respect and enduring appreciation.

As part of our commitment to teaching proper etiquette and civic respect, we share this important flag etiquette reminder for our students and families:

Flag Etiquette Tip

When the American flag is being raised or lowered, or when it is carried in a parade or procession, all present should stand at attention and face the flag. Gentlemen and boys should remove their hats and hold them over their hearts. Ladies and girls should place their right hands over their hearts. This gesture demonstrates reverence for our national symbol and the values it represents.

We encourage our families to model these standards of respect during patriotic observances. Thank you for allowing us to be part of your children’s character development.
Wishing you a meaningful Memorial Day.

📣 A Tribute to Mrs. Lisa Hale, Outgoing Director 📣

At the National League of Junior Cotillions® Loudoun County Chapter, we often reflect on the profound impact of those who lead with grace and character. As Mrs. Lisa Hale prepares to step down as our beloved Director, we pause to celebrate her remarkable legacy.

Have you ever wondered what people say about you when you’re not in the room? For Mrs. Hale, the answer is simple and consistent: “She’s very kind.”

Throughout Loudoun County, her influence has touched many. One parent recalls how their very shy four-year-old, upon first meeting Mrs. Hale, impulsively gave her a hug and declared with joy, “Mrs. Hale is a very kind human!”

Mrs. Hale’s legacy in the Loudoun County Chapter is defined by this very quality. She surrounded herself with a team of kind-hearted individuals and infused genuine kindness, interest in others, and respect into every aspect of our character education. In the world of royal etiquette that we teach, these virtues stand as the cornerstone.

Mrs. Hale, thank you for your years of dedicated service, your positive influence on countless young people, and for embodying the values we strive to instill. You will be deeply missed, but your legacy of kindness and excellence will live on in the Loudoun County Chapter and in all the lives you have touched.

We invite our families and friends to share their own memories of Mrs. Hale in the comments below.

With deepest gratitude,
National League of Junior Cotillions®

Congratulations Mrs. Winters! 🤩🎉

We are honored to share that Jenna Winters was featured on the Emily Post Institute’s Awesome Etiquette podcast, a weekly show hosted by Lizzie Post and Daniel Post Senning that explores modern etiquette through the lens of consideration, respect, and honesty. In Episode 604, Jenna joins the conversation near the end of the episode, around the 41-minute mark, in a feature highlighted by the Emily Post Institute in its own episode promotion.
In a world that moves fast, this conversation is a meaningful reminder that confidence, character, and courtesy still matter, and that teaching young people how to treat others with honor, dignity, and respect is as relevant as ever. This is the kind of message that stays with you, and one we are proud to see represented on such a respected platform.
Take a listen, share it with a parent, educator, or friend, and join us in keeping these timeless values alive.
