Happy Retirement to Officer Mario Balarin! Officer Balarin served the Village for over 23 years, most recently as the School Resource Officer at Grayslake North High School, and as a supervisor on the NIPAS Mobile Field Force team. Super Mario was truly the gold standard for building relationships with students and staff alike, as evidenced by the standing room only turnout at his retirement walkout. We wish Mario all the best in this next chapter of his life!

It was humbling to hear the stories of students, residents, and volunteers, and how their service to others impacts our community. The Exchange Club and Chief Myhra recognized Officer Kyle "Spice" Caringello as the 2025 Officer of the Year. Congratulations, Officer Caringello!
