Appalachian Challenge Academy The Appalachian ChalleNGe Academy This program will assist them in obtaining their High School diploma by credit recovery program, or GED. Are you up for it?

The Appalachian ChalleNGe Academy is part of a national program to assist at risk youth, between ages 16 – 18, who have either dropped out of the traditional school setting or at risk of dropping out. UNITE kicked off the 2026 Shoot Hoops Not Drugs season with a targeted camp for 100 cadets in the 28th class at the Appalachian ChalleNGe Academy in Harlan County on May 28. UNITE staff was assisted by 18 staff members. Regional SHND camps get underway in June.

A big Thanks to Operation UNITE, Tom Vicini, Jarrod Polson and the whole Shoot Hoops not Drugs crew for another successful event at the ACA. The cadets had a great time during this mini camp. I believe a few of them might have even broke a sweat.
