MOUNTAIN HERITAGE MUSIC CAMP: for rising 2nd–12th graders

Johnson County Center for the Arts’ Gallery on Main
129 W Main St., Mountain City, TN

Instructors: Tim Lewis, Lois Dunn, Kenny Price, Janet Mahala, and other guest musicians

Take your picking to the next level. Join us for Mountain Music Makers Camp, an immersive week of Appalachian music led by seasoned musicians and tradition bearers. Students will explore the musical heritage of the mountains while building skills on guitar, banjo, fiddle, and bass. Throughout the week, campers will learn traditional songs and tunes, improve their technique, and gain confidence performing with others. In addition to instrument instruction, students will work on singing in harmony, ensemble playing, stage presence, microphone technique, rhythm, and musicianship—all the skills needed to become a stronger performer and band member. Whether you're just getting started or already playing regularly, this camp offers a supportive environment where young musicians can grow, make new friends, and experience the joy of traditional mountain music. Camp fee $75.00. Scholarships are available thanks to the Morgan Wallen Foundation. Use coupon code ARTFORALL at checkout.
